Fireworks
The Township of Oro-Medonte By-law 2012-067, fireworks and pyrotechnic displays is strictly regulated to ensure public safety and compliance with local and federal laws. Without a consumer or display permit specifically for fireworks and/or pyrotechnic displays, or an applicable Special Event Permit, the use of fireworks is only permitted on three specific days: Victoria Day, Canada Day, and New Year’s Day. To obtain a permit, applicants must submit a detailed application outlining the nature of the event, the types of fireworks to be used, and safety measures in place. This application is reviewed by the relevant authorities to ensure all safety protocols are met. Once approved, the permit allows for the legal use of fireworks outside the designated days, helping to manage and control their use, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and disturbances in the community.
