Elections
2026 Election
The next Municipal and School Board Election will take place in October, 2026. The Clerk is responsible for preparing and conducting the Municipal Election, held every four years, in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act.
The 2026 election will be conducted through internet and telephone voting. Eligible electors will be provided a “voting period” of thirteen (13) days to vote. The “Voting Period” will start on Wednesday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. and run until October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.. This means eligible electors in the Township can cast their ballot anytime during the voting period, from any available internet location, including the comfort of their own home.
Voter Help Centres: Eligible voters who have not received a Voter Information Letter and/or require assistance can attend one of the Voter Help Center(s) during the times and dates specified below:
- Township Administration Centre, 148 Line 7 S. from Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. during regular business hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Thursday, October 15 until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday October 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Monday, October 26, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
- Simcoe Woods Community Centre, 737 Horseshoe Valley Road West from Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. during regular business hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and, Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, October 26, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
and vote using a touch-tone telephone or the internet access provided. Any telephone provided at the Voter Help Centre shall delete any display options on the telephone.
Register to Vote
Confirm, update, or add your information to the Register for provincial, municipal, and school board elections in Ontario.

Eligible electors must be:
- a Canadian citizen
- at least 18 years old
- a resident, owner, or tenant of land in the Township of Oro-Medonte or the spouse of such tenant or owner
- not prohibited from voting under any law
Regardless of the number of priorities you own or rent in the Township, eligible electors are only entitled to vote once during the municipal and school board election.
Nominations
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 Nominations may be filed,
- on any day on or after May 1 in the year of the regular election that is before nomination day, at a time when the clerk’s office is open; or
- on nomination day, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
