Tourism Destination Action Plan

To guide the future of tourism in our community, the Township of Oro-Medonte along with our local partners developed a comprehensive 3-Year Tourism Destination Action Plan. This initiative builds on previous research and community input to chart a clear path forward for tourism development.

The plan positions Oro-Medonte as a Township with a strong, resilient tourism sector and significant potential for sustainable growth.

It outlines strategic actions to enhance the visitor experience, strengthen tourism infrastructure, and support the success of local tourism businesses.

This action plan reflects our ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with our tourism partners and ensuring that Oro-Medonte remains a welcoming, dynamic destination for years to come. This action plan was included in the updated – Economic Development Strategy for synergy and alignment with Township Master Plans.

Tourism Documents

The Oro-Medonte Tourism Ambassador Program is a free, self-guided online course designed to help residents, business owners, and frontline staff become knowledgeable, welcoming hosts for visitors. By completing the program, participants gain valuable insights into local attractions, customer service, and sustainable tourism practices—enhancing the overall visitor experience.

The Township of Oro-Medonte’s 3-Year Tourism Destination Action Plan (2022-2025) sets the direction for the Township’s role as a destination leader and outlines the needed actions to maximize positive tourism impacts.
